Dr. Richard Poon, Chiropractor/Clinic Director
Hello, I am Dr. Richard Poon. I have over 15 years of experience helping you with your health concerns. My education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Waterloo and 4 years of Chiropractic College at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. For more than 15 years I have helped a lot of people get better. My education is similar to what a medical doctor goes through, except we emphasize more on preventative medicine and holistic care. In addition, I do continuing education to keep up on the newest techniques and medical education. This includes training in Active Release Techniques (ART), Graston Technique, traditional manual adjustments ("crack" sound), more gentle Activator Methods (no "crack"), and Drop Table adjustments. Unlike most chiropractors, I also provide TENS therapy and ultrasound therapy if needed. I am a WCB approved provider and have a lot of experience with motor vehicle accidents. I provide chiropractic services at both the Grange Lewis Estates Chiropractic Clinic and Windermere Chiropractor & Physiotherapy Clinic. Call now to find out what I can do for you. I am sure that after you try my services, you’ll see how I can be a partner in helping you with your short and long term health goals.

If you have some discomfort from an auto accident, or a workplace injury, then contact us today to set up an appointment. Dr. Richard Poon has training in Active Release Techniques (ART) and Graston Technique. Some of the chiropractic services we offer include:
Our chiropractor may utilize MyoVision Static Surface Electromyography (SEMG) as an additional tool to diagnose spinal dysfunction. Spinal dysfunctions can interfere with the communication between the brain and rest of the body, which can lead to poor health and susceptibility to injury.
The Graston technique is a non-invasive technique that uses special stainless steel instruments to find scar tissue and fascial restrictions that need to be worked on. Anyone can benefit from this technique when dealing with conditions such as: Achilles tendinosis/itis, carpel tunnel, cervical strain/sprain, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, knee pain, planta fasciitis (foot pain), rotator cuff tendinosis/itits, scare tissue, shin splints, trigger fingers.
Diversified Chiropractic Technique
Diversified Chiropractic Technique is a popular and effective technique for adjusting and aligning peoples' spine. Often you will hear a "crack" sound with this type of adjusting.
Activator/ Arthrostim® Adjusting Tools
If the “cracking” sound of traditional manual adjustments bothers a patient, then there are a few gentler options that we offer. Through activator methods and an Arthrostim® adjusting tool, the adjustments can be made with no noise. The activator method is used to treat spinal problems through an instrument assisted adjusting technique. The Arthrostim® adjusting tool is a unique tool that produces rapid thrust and recoil at a rate of twelve times per second that helps release trigger points that cause muscle spasms.
Ultrasound therapy is used to speed up the healing process by increasing the blood flow to the treated area. It also can relieve pain for patients by reducing swelling and edema. Our ultrasound therapy is also used as a gentle massage to loosen up the treated area for a variety of conditions.
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and IFC (Interferential Current) Therapy
Some of the benefits of these therapies including helping with pain relief, decrease swelling/inflammation, and reduce muscle spasm.
